Mandatory Pre-Departure Meeting:
All students MUST attend Part 1 and Part 2 of the mandatory pre-departure meetings. Students in DC attend Pre-Departure the prior semester. The dates of the meeting are included in your CMC acceptance package.
Country Specific Pre-Departure Meeting:
Each semester the Off-Campus Study Office works extensively to organize the Country Specific Pre-Departure Meetings. These meetings are special in that they are led by returned students - students who have first hand experience studying in your host country and only students going to your host country are in attendance. The Country Specific Pre-Departure Meetings are not mandatory, however past students have deemed it invaluable to learn about the culture, norms, food, housing, academics, travel within, money matters, and what it is like to be a student in your particular host country from their CMC peers. Not all countries will be represented, but we do our best to arrange something for every student accepted to study abroad. Students will be notified of the dates, times and location of your meeting via email.
Acceptance Deposit:
Once accepted into your program you will be give a short time to accept their offer, and in some cases, you will be required to send a non-refundable commit deposit ($300, $450, $500, $800, etc.) You will need to pay this deposit directly to your program sponsor. This deposit will be applied to your program fees for the semester or year.

Program Sponsor Mailings:
Your program sponsor may send you additional forms to fill out (concerning course selection or housing). Be sure to return the forms immediately. Not responding in a timely fashion could delay both your final acceptance because your file is not complete and there ready for review and for housing arrangements. Once you have received an acceptance decision, please notify our office.

Paying Program Fees
CMC will pay the remainder of your fees while abroad with the exception of security deposits. For students enrolled direct at a University (not through a program sponsor such as IES, CIEE, Arcadia, Butler, etc.), we will pay tuition fees but not housing fees. These housing fees are included in any financial aid budget. Direct enroll students need to have housing funds with them abroad to pay direct to the dorm or apartment manager.
In order for us to pay your fees, we need to know in writing whether or not you will be going abroad. Please complete the Student Contract Form (included in the participating students section of the web page) and return it to our office accompanied by a copy of your accepted letter from your program sponsor or university (if direct enrolled).
